United Way of Kenosha County Grants $150,000 to Boost Local Nonprofits!

Hey, Kenosha! We’ve got some thrilling news to share that’s bound to warm your heart and make you proud of our community. United Way of Kenosha County (UWKC) has just announced a whopping $150,000 in grants, and it's going to some of our most dedicated local nonprofits!

Celebrating Community Impact

On June 28, 2024, UWKC unveiled its impressive list of 12 grant recipients, each making a big difference in Kenosha County. Carolynn Friesch, UWKC’s passionate CEO, couldn’t be more excited: “We’re overjoyed to support these amazing organizations! Thanks to the tremendous backing from our community during our 100th anniversary campaign, we boosted our investment by 15% from last year. This means even more support for the vital programs and services that strengthen our community.”

How the Magic Happens

Each year, UWKC invests funds raised by local donors through a rigorous Community Investment process. Their dedicated Community Investment Committee evaluates and selects nonprofit partners tackling critical needs in areas like childhood/youth success, health access, and economic mobility.

Cyndean Jennings, the enthusiastic Chair of the Community Investment Committee, shares her excitement: “It’s truly an honor to see the incredible work our local nonprofits are doing. This year’s grant recipients have shown outstanding dedication and impact in education, financial stability, and health. Our committee of 16 volunteers worked hard to ensure these funds make a real difference. We can’t wait to see the positive changes these investments will bring!”
