Building Unity in CommUNITY: Kenosha's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Educational Series
Presented by United Way of Kenosha County in partnership with The Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund, Herzing University, and Snap-on Incorporated
Building Unity in CommUNITY provides participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to cultivate a diverse, inclusive, equitable, and productive work environment.
OUR GOAL: Provide Kenosha County small businesses and nonprofits with a training resource that increases individual awareness and understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion, and unconscious bias, and ultimately, leads to more equitable workplaces for customers and employees.
The next installment of Building Unity in CommUNITY, taking place September 8-9, 2022, will focus on understanding your own bias related to diversity and inclusion, understanding the differences between diversity and inclusion, and creating a plan to incorporate diversity in the workplace.
The workshop facilitator, Marvin Bembry, has more than 25 years of experience as a coach, trainer, and speaker. He communicates difficult subjects with empathy, compassion, and clarity, helping organizations focus on inclusivity and diversity in positive and necessary ways.
The cost to attend the two-day workshop is $50.00 and includes boxed lunch and beverages.
Space is limited to 45 people. The registration deadline is August 26, 2022.
Building Unity in CommUNITY workshops will be planned as in-person events. We will follow our event host guidelines, including the optional use of masks, and closely monitor local COVID-19 rates. Any updates that impact a workshop will be shared with participants in advance of the event.
