About Your United Way
Our History
The United Way movement in this county and across the nation has impacted countless lives since its first inception back in the 1887 when a Denver priest, two ministers and a rabbi put their heads together to plan the first united campaign for 10 health and welfare agencies. During the first year, they raised $21,700. Little did they know that they were on the brink of producing one of the most important social inventions in America’s history.

Accountability
United Way of Kenosha County (UWKC) is a member in good standing of United Way Worldwide and adheres to all of their stringent membership requirements. We adhere to strong accounting and financial standards, including an annual independent audit. We continually receive unqualified audit opinions and as a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

United Way of Kenosha County (UWKC) is a local, community based and volunteer driven organization dedicated to improving community well being throughout Kenosha County. UWKC is governed by our Board of Directors (BOD), a very distinguish and diverse group of local community stakeholders. The BOD is supported by staff and extraordinary and committed volunteers serving on our committees and teams.

Community Impact Program
United Way of Kenosha County (UWKC) is committed to funding programs that provide community solutions and deliver measurable results. Our Community Impact Program aligns its goals, objectives and recommendations for funding with the community’s agenda on priority areas generated through the Community Services Program and the Community Impact Model. The model includes 1) mobilizing the community and resources to address priority needs, 2) to make measurable and sustainable changes, and 3) to improve overall community well being. Community Services Program
United Way of Kenosha County’s (UWKC) Community Services Program was designed to provide our local communities with a variety of resources and services to help them address community needs, such as information and referrals and direct and indirect services and programs.
