Day of Caring

Day of Caring is just one of the many ways that we promote the spirit of service and volunteerism in our community. It is a way to bring diverse groups of people together to make a positive and lasting impact.

In 2015, 200 volunteers helped package 40,000 meals (nearly 6,500 pounds)! The food was distributed to seven local pantries that included:

  • AIDS Resource Center
  • First Step Services
  • Salvation Army
  • Shalom Center
  • The Sharing Center
  • Twin Lakes Food Pantry
  • Women and Children's Horizons

Another 300 volunteer participated in 22 projects benefitting local non-profit organizations including: Shalom Center, Garden of Eatin', Hunger Task Force, four Kenosha Public  Library locations, Habitat for Humanity, Nifty Thrifty, Downtown Kenosha clean-up, the Girl Scouts Woodhaven Center, Pringle Nature Center and the Kenosha Dream Playground.
